Santa Clarita Becoming Desired Movie Location

Santa Clarita, California continues to grow as a filmmaking region. The area promotes the sound stages, movie ranches, thousands of filming locations, and one stop low cost film permitting within the industry's 30 mile zone.
"We're excited Santa Clarita has retained its reputation as an ideal location for productions to film their projects" said Mayor Bob Kellar. "We remain committed to making Santa Clarita a top choice for filming because the entertainment industry provides high paying jobs and contributes significantly to our local economy."
Factors believed to have contributed to the upswing include: California Film and Television Tax Credit Program, Movie Ranch Overlay Zone, and the cities own Film Incentive Program.
The Film Office recorded 528 film permits and 30.9 million dollars to the local economy. The 2015-2016 fiscal year saw the following titles produced in town: "NCIS" , "Modern Family", "Baskets", "Criminal Minds" and "Switched at Birth" among others.
