UCLA Honors ASC Greats

The UCLA Film & Television Archive's "Art of Light" film series is celebrating ASC greats — Michael Ballhaus, Allen Daviau, Laszlo Kovacs and Vilmos Zsigmond — with special events in February. All of the events will be held in the new, 295-seat Billy Wilder Theater in the Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., Westwood.

On Feb. 21, Daviau will screen and discuss the short film Amblin', his first collaboration with Steven Spielberg, and the feature Fearless, directed by Peter Weir. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Daviau just received the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award on February 19th.

On Feb. 23, Ballhaus will screen and discuss Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Ballhaus was honored with the ASC International Award.
