Elevate Festival Takes Over The Kodak
(released 8/31/2007)

The Kodak Theater will be taken over September 15th by the Elevate Festival of Film and Music. This is a competition in the vein of the 48 Hour Film Project but with a twist. It's a contest that producers and directors will compete in three categories: Music Video, Narrative Short and Documentary Short.

The similarities are that the contestants have 48 hours from the time they get their topic to make their project.

What sets this competition apart from others is the topics will be related to social and global importance. This obviously gets to people's hearts as they have been able to lure some top name talent to take part. People such as Alanis Morissette, Brian Gerber, India.Arie, Jeff Cronenweth, and Mark Harris. One previous winner includes Lilakoi Moon (formerly Lisa Bonet).

The competitors will start by getting their topic on September 8th. They then have 48 hours to complete their projects. The finished films will be screened at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood on September 15th.

The Elevate Festival is free to the public and wristbands are awarded on a first come, first serve basis at the Kodak box office, on Level 2 of the Kodak Theater, the night of the festival starting at 6:30pm. Additionally, a limited amount of guaranteed premium seats are on-sale now at the Kodak box office and through ticketmaster for $22.
